THE
CONSTRUCTION
DEPARTMENT

What We Teach:
This is a new course for the school. It is a vocational course, providing students with the opportunity to develop practical skills – and work placements – in areas of construction. It provides an introduction to the basic skills in construction which include painting and decorating, plastering, carpentry and joinery, electrical installation, brickwork and plumbing. It is a nationally recognised course which will provide successful students with the equivalent of two GCSEs at grades D to G.

This is an ideal course for students who are interested in acquiring a practical trade. At 16, students will be well-placed either to extend their studies at college or seek employment in the ever in demand areas of construction, electrician and plumbing vacancies.

Staffing:
Paulina Gray (Head of Department)
