What We Teach:
GCSE Health and Social Care is a Double Award GCSE which aims to prepare students for progression to employment and/or further training in the health, social care and early years sectors through the development of knowledge, skills and understanding needed for work in these sectors.

Students work on three units, as follows:

• Unit 1: Health, social care and early years provision
• Unit 2: Promoting health and well-being
• Unit 3: Understanding personal development and relationships

67% of the course will be assessed internally, 33% will be assessed by an external examiner.

This is a vocational course, in which students will participate in work placements and work simulations, to develop their theoretical skills in a practical context. Students successfully completing the course will receive the equivalent of 2 GCSE grades.
