Information:
Ensuring Student Success

St. Paul's Way has high expectations and demands commitment from students and their parents to ensure that all students achieve the highest possible standards.

The school has developed a variety of approaches to support students and to ensure these high standards:

  • regular homework;

  • Student Planner and Homework Diary;

  • after school revision classes and study support classes;

  • Saturday morning and holiday revision classes for GCSE students;

  • regular monitoring of student progress.

Homework and Student Progress Diaries
All students are set homework every day and have a homework timetable. They have termly homework diaries which also include space for setting targets for each term. This means that they can work towards clear and set targets which have been agreed with their teachers. Homework is written in the diaries on a daily basis and parents are asked to check and sign their child's diary at least once a week.

Monitoring of Student Progress
In addition to student self monitoring and tutor evaluation, all students in Years 10 and 11 are monitored by a senior member of staff to ensure that they can reach their full potential at GCSE.

After School and Revision Classes
We provide a number of after school and lunchtime classes in many subjects and for sport. For Year 11 in particular, we provide after school, Saturday morning and holiday revision classes. You can find out which activities are running at the moment in the Student Centre, linked from the top of this page.
