A Message from the Headteacher

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope that this Newsletter finds you well. The popularity and reputation of the School continue to grow, as is shown by the large increase in numbers in our new Year 7. As I write this, we have 208 students on roll and have a waiting list of students keen to join the School.

No small part of this increased success is due to your continued support. As well as superb GCSE results, which I wrote to you about in the last Newsletter, attendance increased throughout last year and was over 94% during the Summer term. From Tuesday, a new attendance hotline will be in operation. Please use this number if your child is unwell or you wish to discuss any aspect of their attendance.

The new attendance number is 020 7515 2828

Another important change from Monday, and one for which I really need your support, relates to confiscated items of inappropriate uniform. Too many students are still bringing in hooded tops, baseball caps and large earrings, despite many warnings. Even when items are taken from them and returned at a later date, many still bring these items into School again. In order to improve uniform once and for all, all students have now been told that confiscated items taken from Monday will only be returned at the end of each half term.

Please would you remind your child not to bring in forbidden items and warn them, that if they do, they will not be seeing them until the end of the half-term. For information, I print the acceptable uniform list before.

I look forward, as always, to welcoming you to the School in the very near future.

With very best wishes,

Simon Harris
Headteacher

Too Late Now!

We continue to take steps to improve attendance and punctuality. The School encourages students to arrive on time for School each morning. Please remember that School starts at 9am, and students need to be here in good time. In future, students who are late more than once a week will have a one hour detention.

Should this be the case with your child, the School will inform you. Many thanks to those parents who continue to ensure that students arrive in good time.
